(1) stereoview of James Butler aka Wild Bill Hickok's first grave, located in Ingleside Cemetery, Old Deadwood Cemetery in Whitewood Gulch. The image's focal point is the wooden headboard and footboard of James Butler Hickok. Headboard reads "WILD BILL J. B. HICKOK killed by assassin Jack McCall Deadwood Black Hills August 2, 1876..." On left side of image is tall man with rifle. On right side of monument is 2nd man sitting, presumably Charles Utter aka Colorado Charlie. Both men dressed in buckskin. In in the background is th hillside of Deadwood Gulch. On reverse side advertisement reads "VIEWS IN THE BLACK HILLS PUBLISHED BY THE AMERICAN VIEW COMPONY, DEADWOOD - DAKOTA" |
