Image focuses on Main street, showing the cluster of wood buildings (commercial and residential) cramped along the gulch floor. Image captures modern Main, Sherman, Lee, and Deadwood Streets. Image also shows major rebuilding projects along Main Street. Off in distance (along right side of image) captures the base and side of McGovern Hill. The stereoview is part of a series entitled "Views of the Black Hills " published by Pollock and Boyden. On the reverse side of the card is a printed advertisement for Pollock & Boyden's studio.
